NBC and CBS completely miss the point

So NBC and CBS announced they'd start selling episodes of their TV shows for $0.99, in an apparent response to episodes of Lost and Desperate Housewives being sold on iTunes.

Great right? Well, not really. Whereas you can get Lost over the internet, these episodes are only available to cable subscribers through Comcast. Who already have a Comcast DVR. In other words, they're only selling these episodes to people who 1) already “paid” for it by subscribing in the first place, but were 2) too lazy or two dumb to set their DVR to record it.

Way to go guys. Truly, you're on the ball here, demonstrating a sharp understanding of your market and consumer desires.

How do TV executives keep their jobs?
