Wired on movie release windows

Wired has an interview with Director Steven Soderbergh, on his new movie Bubble. The notable thing about it isn't anything to do with the movie itself, but rather the way it's being released: On DVD, in the theater, and HD Cable all on the same day, throwing out the entire concept of the Hollywood “release window”. I'm not exactly sure I'm interested in this movie itself, but I'm glad to see that some in Hollywood are aware of just how outdated the release window concept is, and that they're willing to give consumers the ability to consume a movie in whatever fashion they prefer. It's an interesting interview because he's obviously someone who “gets it”: consumers, not executives, are in charge now.
